Carpentry & Joinery
First and second fix, fitted furniture and bespoke joinery
First fix is structure: floor joists, roof timbers, studwork, door linings, the things that decide whether everything above them is square. Second fix is what you see and touch every day — doors, architrave, skirting, stairs, handrails.
And then there is the fitted joinery that makes an ordinary room feel designed: alcove units either side of a chimney breast, a run of wardrobes built into an awkward eaves, a media wall with the cabling and lighting hidden inside it.

First-fix carpentry
Floor and roof structure, studwork, noggins, linings and the timber that everything else is fixed back to — set out square so the finishing trades are not fighting it.
Second-fix finishing
Internal doors hung to swing and latch properly, architrave and skirting mitred and scribed, staircases, handrails, window boards and the trims around them.
Fitted and bespoke joinery
Alcove cabinetry, fitted wardrobes, media walls, shelving and storage built to the actual dimensions of the room — including the walls that are not quite parallel.
